The PPEI EFILive Allison TCM Tuning is a major benefit to all users regardless of their modifications. The TCM Tuning comes with an earlier lock-up strategy that ultimately allows for the truck to put all the power to the ground more efficiently than the stock TCM calibration would allow. As for those weekend warriors it can knock off .05 off your track times for stock transmission applications and even more time with modified/built transmissions.
68RFE automatic transmission equipped trucks have the option to order transmission tuning. With an electronically controlled transmission factors such as converter lockup, line pressure, and shift patterns can be supremely adjusted. Our TCM tuning is highly recommended to preserver to longevity of your transmission at higher HP and TQ.
We recommend this for all A50 & T87 controllers. It has an aggressive Line PSI slope which will model a torque curve 100% above stock. The line PSI is modified in such a way that the truck will still retain good mileage yet hold high line psi (close to 245-300psi under full load) following this torque curve. Line PSI is increased across the board, so as a result, fuel economy may be lower in some cases.
Earlier converter lockup, increased line pressure, new shift strategy to keep from lugging, easier downshift with less throttle input, and tailored torque management.
Designed for current PPEI users who already have an AutoCal and Single Tune. A DSP5 switch must be used to allow switchable tuning.
